BI performance counter: Total successes

Applies to

SSAS

Description

This performance counter monitors the total number of client connections to the Analysis Services instance that were successfully completed since the counter was started.

By default, no one except a Server Administrator or Database Administrator has permission to query cubes in a database. Cube access by a non-administrator requires membership in a role created for the database containing the cube. The value of this counter is reset whenever the service is restarted.

Resolved by

DBAs, Server administrators, BI developers

Suggested solutions

  1. Grant cube or model read permissions
  2. Verify SQL Server Analysis Services TCP/IP for remote connectivity
  3. Ensure that firewall is not blocking connections from client to server
  4. Check if the SQL Browser service is started
